In the later years of the 1960’s our founder, the late District Elder Jimmy L. Roustic, received a vision from God to build and establish a ministry whereas souls may come and be saved, get Spirit filled, grow in Christ, be developed and nurtured for the work of the ministry and edifying of the church, and finally be ready to go back with the Lord at the sound of the First Trumpet at the First Resurrection..
Pastor Jimmy L. Roustic founded and pastored his first church in a storefront building in the city of Indianapolis, Indiana in 1967. Then around 1969 he heard the Lord say “Go west young man, go west”. With the leading of the Lord, Pastor Roustic, his wife Dorothy Ann and their four daughters Karen, Kathy, Dianah and Roselyn left Indianapolis, and moved to the mid-west settling in Kansas City, MO. There he became an associate interim pastor of Grace Temple Pentecostal Church.
In March of 1973 Elder Roustic was led to move on in ministry and founded the Abundant Life Apostolic Church which was then located in a building at 3415 Prospect Avenue in Kansas City, MO. The church operated at that location for three years, after which we purchased and moved to our present location of 723 Olive St. in Kansas City, MO.
Pastor Jimmy L. Roustic was a man of wisdom, vision and destiny. He successfully pastored the ministry, paid off the facility and purchased adjoining properties on Olive St. and Wabash as well as opening of a Montessori daycare facility in the neighborhood. He envisioned the development of these properties as “Pentecostal Square” on which he planned to build a new sanctuary and prayer tower for the glory of the Lord.
Elder J.L. Roustic labored faithfully in the service of the Lord. He was honored for his dedication and received the office of District Elder in the Northwestern District Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World. Holding that position, he was responsible for training and establishing other pastors and ministers in the work of the Lord and presiding over churches in the eastern region of the NWDC
OUR CHURCH HISTORY

Throughout time, Dist. Elder Roustic’s health began to decline. But he would still press his way to the house of the Lord to preach and teach the Word of God nourishing and feeding the flock God gave him. In the year of 2007, with his health still failing, he thought it necessary to install his wife, Evangelist Dorothy Ann Roustic, as Assistant Pastor. Then later that year on December 22nd, District Elder Jimmy L. Roustic gave up the burden of this life and went on to rest in the arms of the Lord.
After the passing of Dist. Elder J.L Roustic, his wife Evangelist Dorothy Roustic took over the pastorate of Abundant Life Apostolic Church and was officially installed as Pastor on June 13th of 2008. During her term, souls were led to Christ, the membership increased, and a reconstruction project of the sanctuary was completed.
After four years of pastoring, Pastor Dorothy Roustic felt the leading of the Lord to retire and pass the pastorate on to her son, Elder James Roustic in early 2012. And in March of 2013 Pastor James A. Roustic was installed as Pastor of Abundant Life apostolic Church.
As the Abundant Life Church continues to grow, strengthen and do the Lord’s work, we truly believe that the best is yet to come. We still take hold to the spirit and vision of our founder District Elder Jimmy L. Roustic that this will be a ministry of salvation, healing, deliverance and the nurturing of individuals that the abundance of life Jesus gives will rest in them. We believe the Word of God according to Habukkuk 2:3 “the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak and not lie. Though it tarry, we wait for it; because it will surely come…"
